Your Aligners. Simple Rules. Better Results

Follow these core principles to keep your treatment on track and get the best possible results from your Snap Aligners

Wear

Wear your aligners for 22 hours per day

Only remove them for eating, drining (except water) and brushing your teeth

Aligners only work when they are worn – anything less will slow or affect your results

Fit

Your aligners should feel snug when fully seated

– A perfect fit isn’t expected on day one – they are designed to achieve their best fit by the end of the 7-day wear period

– press onto your front teeth first and then towards the back

– use your aligner seater

– bite gently to ensure full contact

A good fit helps your teeth move as planned

If aligners are not fully seated, teeth may not track correctly and future aligners may not fit

Change

Move to your next aligner as instructed by your dentist – typically every 7 days

– Do not skip aligners

– Do not move ahead early unless advised by your dentist

Each aligner is part of a sequence – skipping steps can affect your results

Clean

– Rinse your aligners after removal

– clean them daily using aligner safe cleaning tablet

– use a toothbrush and toothpaste for cleaning also

Oral Hygiene

Because your aligners are worn for most of the day, meticulous oral hygiene is essential

– Brush at least twice daily

– Brush after meals before reinserting aligners, where possible

– Floss daily

– Rinse with water if brushing is not immediately possible

Your dentist may recommend a peroxide – based mouthwash to help maintain oral hygiene and reduce bacterial load

Emergency!

– There are very few in aligner treatments but contact your dentist in the first instance if you have pain or discomfort more than expected

– if you lose an aligner, move into the next one in the sequence and inform your dentist

– if there is a crack in your aligner, this is not always an emergency but contact your dentist for advice

Why Snap Aligners Are Different

Snap Aligners are made using advanced shape memory material, designed to maintain consistent force and help your teeth move as planned.

Daily Shape Reset

To maintain performance, your should reset your aligners using the following method

1. Place your aligners in a container with the tooth cavities facing upwards

2. Pour over freshly boiled water and  leave to soak for up to 1 hour (at least 30 minutes)

3. Add cold water and allow to cool for at least 1 minute

You may add aligner safe cleaning tablets if desired

it is normal for your aligners to feel slightly tighter after a reset. This means they are working effectively.

This process is safe for shape memory aligners and is designed to restore their original form. Do not do this for regular aligners.
